Cinnamon is a spice made from the inner bark of the cinnamon trees, of which there are many varieties. This certified organic Cinnamomum Zeylanicum (known as true or Ceylon cinnamon) has a sweeter, more delicate flavour than cassia. The use of cinnamon as an aromatic spice can be dated to as far back as ancient Egypt. Popular in spice mixes, sweet or savoury recipes, and hot or cold beverages.
How to Use:
The fragrant sweetness of Cinnamon is a delicious addition to smoothies, porridge, yoghurt or acai bowls. Sprinkle over pancakes, waffles and French toast. Add some to stewed fruit, puddings and home baked goods. Or use this organic Ceylon cinnamon in raw treats, ice cream and chocolate. Ground cinnamon is a great addition to spice mixes for curries, hotpots, marinades and rubs. An essential ingredient in chai tea, cinnamon is also delicious in hot chocolate or coffee – where it can be used in place of sugar.
